First impressions on collecting the car was
'wow' what a good looking vehicle. I had arranged with the seller to collect
the car from the car park at South Ruislip station on the central line at 8pm. We arrived late at 8.10pm and Brian was already waiting. It had been raining and the car
looked ravishing wet, parked in the station car park with the engine warming
and the driver's door open with Brian standing by. My daughter who had been adamant
that she wouldn't like the car, the shape and the colour being awful let out a
shriek of excitement when we turned the corner and she saw the coupe for the
first time. "Dad" she said "It's alright".
After pleasantries were exchanged, the cash
handed over and the ownership details sorted out our goodbyes were said and we
made our way to the nearest petrol station. I filled the coupe with fifty
litres of unleaded and bought my daughter 2 packets of Walkers crisps before
making our way home along the A40 towards the M25.
I can honestly say that the little Fiat is
a dream to drive. Despite the rain heavy at times the coupe was simply exhilarating,
there’s the sound from the exhaust, the road handling and the sheer power from
the engine that makes driving this ‘Ferrari’ awesome.
Dropping down to third and pushing the revs
to 5000 truly engaged the turbo I managed a glance over towards Isabella pinned
against her seat, her facial expression displaying sheer horror and panic “Daddy
I’m scared!”
